The authors have spent over forty years travelling about the globe, writing and photographing their experiences.  Many of their articles have been published in newspapers, magazines and books.

Gar provides frequent public commentaries on public and foreign affairs on television and radio ranging from CBC, CTV, BBC and CBS as well as newspapers including the Ottawa Citizen, The Embassy, the Globe And Mail, the Kingston Whig Standard, Victoria Times Colonist, the Edmonton Journal, the Windsor Star, Montreal GazettePrism and Global TV.  He also provides pro bono assistance to Canadians in difficulty in foreign countries.

Laurel is the author of two books; Life on a Carousel, a collection of insights on life in the Canadian Foreign Service, and A Lady of Lunenburg, a historic novel about the beginnings of her family in Nova Scotia.
